Itinerary

Day 1 :
Arrival

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will meet our guide and driver, who will be waiting to transfer you to a hotel in Arusha for a short rest and refreshments. After a hot breakfast, you will have time to relax before embarking on a short town walk around Arusha. You will visit a historical museum showcasing Tanzania’s colonial history, independence, and union. This tour will take just a few hours as you explore the different chambers of the museum. In the late evening, you will return to New Safari Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for Momela Gate, where you will check in and begin your hike up Mount Meru, which stands at 4,566 meters above sea level. Accompanied by a local guide, you will learn about the mountain and its surrounding areas. Lunch will be served at a picnic spot on the mountain before you begin your descent. Your guide will drop you at the gate, where your driver will be waiting to take you back to the hotel in Arusha for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will check out and depart for Lake Manyara National Park. Here, you will enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery, including the lake, lush vegetation, and diverse wildlife. Lunch will be served at a picnic spot, offering a stunning view of the lake. In the evening, you will drive to a lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Following an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will collect packed lunch boxes and head to Tarangire National Park, just an hour’s drive away. You will spend the day encountering a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes. Lunch will be enjoyed in a safe picnic area within the park. The afternoon will be spent on an extended game drive before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

This day will be dedicated to cultural exploration as you visit the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. You will have the unique experience of joining the Hadzabe bushmen on a traditional hunt in the savannah. Later, you will visit the Datoga community before heading to Lake Eyasi for lunch, where you can admire the beautiful lake and its birdlife, including flamingos, storks, plovers, and lapwings. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will depart for Ngorongoro Crater, carrying packed lunch boxes for the day. The crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife areas, offering a chance to see the Big Five, including the rare black rhino. You will enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site before continuing the afternoon game drive. Later in the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, you will embark on a guided cultural tour in Mto wa Mbu village. A local guide will take you on a walk through the village, visiting rice farms, local markets, and community projects. You may also have the opportunity to make donations to local schools or women’s groups. Later, you will visit a Maasai boma, where you will enjoy traditional Maasai dances and learn about their culture and way of life. Afterward, you will return to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.

This day will be filled with adventure as you explore the Materuni Waterfalls in Moshi, located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. The scenic walk through the village will offer breathtaking views of the mountain. You will also experience Chaga culture and enjoy a local lunch in Materuni village, engaging with the community. In the evening, you will return to Panama Hotel in Moshi for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early morning departure from Moshi, you will travel for approximately three to four hours to Mkomazi National Park. Lunch will be served inside the park. The afternoon game drive will offer opportunities to see black rhinos, elephants, and—if lucky—wild hunting dogs. You will spend the night at Babu’s Camp, where you can enjoy the sounds of nature and wildlife.

An early morning game drive will provide a chance to spot nocturnal animals returning to their dens. After returning to camp for breakfast, you will pack up and depart for Usambara, with lunch en route. The journey to Usambara Mountains will take approximately three hours. You will spend the night at Irente View Cliff Lodge, where you can take in the stunning landscapes.

After breakfast, you will embark on a day hike to Kisasa Waterfall and Irente Viewpoint, accompanied by a local guide who will share insights into the region’s history and culture. Lunch will be served at a scenic location. In the afternoon, you can explore further based on your interests. You will return to Irente View Cliff Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

The journey continues as you travel to Muheza, where you will enjoy nature-based activities such as exploring waterfalls, biking or walking through forests, and visiting Magoroto Forest. Here, you will listen to the sounds of birds and experience canoeing in the natural pool. The night will be spent at Magila Falls Resort.

After breakfast, you will enjoy morning activities in the Magila area before driving to Tanga, your final destination on the mainland. Your driver and guide will drop you at the arranged hotel, marking the end of your safari.
